I want to ensure our students continue to have access to one of the best public school educations in Michigan. I'm committed to ensuring the new strategic plan our board has adopted and its goals are implemented with fidelity and that our new superintendent is supported for a smooth transition into his new role because his success is our collective success, too.

Schools are the cornerstone of our community and I want to ensure we do everything we can to continue to improve them.

Students deserve multiple paths to successful futures. To support the greatest number of students, we need to support all the possible paths to successful futures for our students. While some students will thrive in the traditional AP to degree path, there are other options. Therefore, the district must offer diverse pathways to post-high school success, including trades and military careers.

I am seeking a full term on the Board to ensure our kids are continuing to receive a world-class education, and our District continues to innovate and educate ALL students, meeting their educational needs and ensuring their social-emotional well-being.

Richard is a champion of public education, the students served by public schools, and the teachers/staff who make it possible.
